I'm not totally sure how Aslan is going to handle it yet, so we're going to have a play date first. If by chance it's not going to work out, her mom can (reluctantly) take him. I dont' want to put too much pressure on Aslan by having a new cat. I got him from the shelter, so I'm not sure if he's been around other kitties. Vonnegut has been around a lot of cats and a dog, so I know he'll be fine. So, we'll see :) I'm excited though. He's such a cutie!
Not as cute as Aslan though!

Matt will be going home in less than a week... Super sad Cass :( However, Matt is considering making this his home, so super happy Cass :)
Just a few more snapshots to share real quick :)

Matt and Aslan making friends. I thought Iflie would get a kick out of the look on Aslan's face!

Well, that about sums up my day.
This morning, I was awoken by the UPS man ringing my doorbell. I have no idea what he looked like because I ripped off my sleep mask (was blinded by the light) and then smoothed my hair and ran to the door (blind) and signed for the package (still blind and unable to look up at the guy.) It was my brand spanking new bedset from Overstock.com!!! Yay! It was a super awesome deal, $44 after shipping and handling, and the tag on the bag actually said it was from Mervyn's originally for $99.99. And here it is!!
And of course... Here is Aslan enjoying it.
Second bit of news is that my dad told me today that he and my step-mom are taking me to see "Grease" in Seattle in May for my birthday!!! Yay! There goes the surprise, but it's ok because I have to request the day off, so I needed to know early. I'm pretty excited. I'm not the biggest, super huge Grease fan, but I LOVE musicals, and I love going to the theatre, so I really don't care what we're going to see. And I do like Grease, but it's one of those that I kind of burned myself out a little on when I was younger. Anyway, it's a pretty awesome birthday present anyway :)
And thirdly, I got my Valentine's day present from Matt in the mail today as well! I had to turn it over on the table so I couldn't look at the custom's form. It was very hard not to, as I really wanted to see what was in it. I'm being good though and not wanting to ruin the surprise.
Oh, and I got my scrubs today from Jasco! 4 pants and 4 scrub tops. They messed up and sent one scrub pant in the wrong size, but it's ok because when I lose a little more weight, it'll fit. Until then, I'm pretty stoked about 4 tops and 4 bottoms for $30!
BTW... Joaquin Phoenix is on Letterman right now... The beard, long hair and one word answers are creeping me out. I love him too... (especially a la super bad guy in Gladiator and quirky fun guy in Signs). I watched Walk the Line last night, and it just kind of makes me sad because he's super cute (minus beard and long scraggly hair).

I bought this fabric ages ago to make a little pillow for my kitty to lay on. I bought some other fabric too, to make another.
I just whipped this up last night because I had the sewing machine out making my potholders for the swap.
And here he is enjoying it :)
He was sitting there napping and staring at me while I was online last night :)

Anyone who has been on my friend's list for even the slightest amount of time will know that I have quite a silly cat...
Tonight, I was sitting at the comptuer and he jumped on the table and sat on some crafts that I was working on. When I yelled at him, he looked at me, and this is what I saw...
Now, I know, they're a little hard to see, but if you click on them and blow it up, you can see the dead mosquito hanging off his nose. He was TOTALLY oblivous to it being there!
Hehehehe, he's so damn cute!

I was trying to find a meme that I could do in regards to Thanksgiving, but thought I'd just do this - list 5 things I'm thankful for.
1. My health. I feel good, I'm getting fitter. I stopped smoking, and I've lost weight. I have no serious medical issues. I'm mobile and young and all of those things. I wake up every single morning still breathing. That's a damn fine thing to be thankful for.
2. Matt. He has changed my life more than any one person who has ever come into it. I am thankful every single day for the love that we share and the future that we are going to have together. He is the most caring, kind, understanding, wonderful man I've ever met. He is everything I was looking for in a man, and many more things I never knew I wanted until I met him. I didn't think someone like him existed in this world. I am so utterly thankful for whatever twist of fate it was that brought us together.
3. My family and friends. I know they'll always be there for me. We have our good times and we have our bad times, but no matter what, I love them all.
4. I have a job and a home. In these tough economic times that is really important. Now, I don't know how long I'll have that job if things continue as they are now, but I have one now. I have clothes on my back, food in my belly and a roof over my head. Those are good things.
5. Aslan. I know, it seems silly to be thankful for a kitty, but he is my little man. He's been there for me through some rough times and I know I always have his fluffy little face waiting for me when I come home. He is there for me when things are rough without any judgement. I love him so much :) Nearly as much as Matt.
Oh, and here's Aslan, sleeping on, of all things, my $60 cashmere scarf! It needs to go to the dry cleaner's as it is, but seriously!?
